Post-16 Opportunities At The Nuneaton Academy
Post-16 Option Informal Interviews will commence in December and run through to the end of January. Every year 11 student will be met with advice and guidance on the different options/pathways will be discussed.
Interviews will be with Assistant Principal Claire Cooke and Post-16 Year Leader Emma Bowes. Students will receive an appointment time and date via their registers.
The Nuneaton Academy has its own Sixth Form, supported by highly experienced staff and with close links to North Warwickshire & Hinckley College.

The Sixth Form will have its own new base and new facilities on the Radnor Drive site and we have appointed new experienced sixth form staff to work with us to provide excellent courses with first rate support and guidance. Our expectations are high and all our students will have access to a wide range of courses that are personalised to suit each individual student's ability, needs and future aspirations. In addition to an extensive range of courses and enrichment activities, we offer a dedicated sixth form team who support, encourage and monitor student progress throughout the year. All we ask is a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
OUR COURSES
The Nuneaton Academy offers a range of courses to meet all our students' needs, including Level 2 (GCSE and equivalent level courses) and Level 3 AS, A2 and BTEC Diplomas. All students in Year 12 will also follow a core program of courses designed to both enrich and extend academic studies and prepare students for life after the Sixth Form. The program will include support sessions, enrichment and community activities, Higher Education preparation (in conjunction with local universities including Coventry, Warwick and Birmingham), Career preparation, advice, guidance, job insights and work placements where appropriate (working with Connexions and local employers.
LEVEL 3 COURSES
AS and A Level
Art, Biology, Chemistry, Drama, English, History, Mathematics, Photography, , Psychology all based on our own site, Physics in collaboration Additional A Levels based at consortium schools including Further Mathematics, Languages, Law, Sociology, Computer Science and Geography BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma (formerly BTEC National Award and this can be taken as an AS or a full A2 equivalent) Applied Science, IT, Media, Public Services (all taken on our own site) A choice from: BTECs in Art and Design (choices in Fashion, Graphics or Photography) Performing Arts - choices to specialise in Acting or Dance), Business, Level 3 Cache Child Care (details to be provided PE .All taken at North Warwickshire and Hinckley College.
Additional AS equivalent courses: Level 3 COPE or Extended Project
LEVEL 2 COURSES
BTEC Level 2 Diploma (formerly BTEC First Diploma) in Public Services GCSE Courses: Resit English and Mathematics and other resits by individual arrangement
