Ann Melville (Chair)

North Warwickshire and Hinckley College, Hinckley Road, Nuneaton CV11 6BH. 


Ann was a member of the original governing body when the Academy opened in 2010.

Ann has a background in teaching and community education. She was a senior local government official responsible for community education and the youth service. Ann was Assistant Director in Education/ Children’s services with responsibility for Strategic Development, School Sufficiency Planning, Admissions, Department Finance and Capital Development.

Ann has been a Local Authority representative on a secondary school governing body and when Assistant Director she had regular links with Governing Bodies.

She joined the LGB to maintain her involvement with schools, believing that she could contribute to the development of the new Academy from her previous experience in education. Ann’s key skills include understanding data, school finance and effective monitoring. Strategic planning and quality assurance monitoring. Ann’s extensive management experience at a senior level supports the Principal.

Her hobbies and interests include gardening, her children and grandchildren, and current affairs. Ann is also a Director and Vice Chair of Leicester Citizens Advice Bureau.

Sue Smith

Sue joined the LGB in July 2015.

Sue spent 38 years in teaching, 20 of which were in senior leadership. Sue wanted to join the LGB to use her teaching experience post retirement.

Sue's Strengths include data analysis, coaching and mentoring and Special Educational needs and Safeguarding. She has a wide range of interests and hobbies that keep her very busy. 

Mike Coult

Mike joined the LBG in September 2014.

He was previously a Member of the North Warwickshire and Hinckley Corporation and is now a Director for the Midlands Academies Trust.

His background is in local government finance and change management. Mike was a Trust Board member with the Warwickshire Probation Service and is the Independant Chair of the MAT Audit Committee.

Mike joined the LGB to give something back to the local community after serving in local government for 40 years. His key skills and experience are in public sector accounting and audit, data analysis and challenge looking for alternative ways of thinking.

Richard Evans

Richard joined the LGB in July 2016. He has over 15 years’ experience as a senior manager in the third sector and had previously been a governor at the Midland Studio College.

Richard has a strong belief in the need to develop and educate upcoming generations and a desire to influence that within educators. Richard's key skills are leadership, analytic ability and strategic and operational experience. In his spare time Richard is a musician who plays in various pop bands.


Rob Clark

Rob spent 23 years working in local government as a trading standards officer. He was the leader reviewer during two trading standards peer reviews in Hull and West Yorkshire. Rob holds qualifications in lead auditor, mentor and training in trading standards roles.

The eldest of Rob’s children has attended TNA since September 2014 with another due to start September 2018 and then September 2022, so he is hoping for a long and positive involvement with the Academy.

Rob has previous experience of acting as a critical friend and in identifying areas of best practice and areas for improvement. His hobbies and interest include modern history, movies, football and rugby and trying to keep fit in order to keep up with his children.
